Josh graduates today so he will be on his way back home tomorrow. We are so excited and are thinking of calling him bright and early so he can get on the road! The boys know he is coming home tomorrow so I am sure they are going to be bouncing off the walls. Ryland is really ready to see him. We were over at a friend's house for supper one night last week and I said Ryland had been in trouble more often than Collin and that is very unusual. (Although Collin has improved 10 fold! He has really been working on his "good attitude" and he loves saying he has a "good attitude" and other kids have a "bad attitude" He even went up to a mom at the park yesterday to tell her that her son didn't come when she called. He was watching and saw her do nothing after her child ignored her. Talk about being called out by a 3 year old. And talk about my need for consistancy!~)
Anyway, back to the Ryland story... my friend said maybe he was missing his dad and just didn't know how to show it. I said Josh has been gone before and he didn't act out. Well just then her hubby walked in and Ryland was all over him.
"Hey Steve, watch this. Hey Steve, you want to play a game. Hey Steve, do you want to come outside. Hey Steve,...."
I guess she was right. We haven't really dealt with it before because when Josh would go, I would go too. Home that is. Where Ryland had my dad, brother, and my sister's husband to fill that male presence. I guess I learned my lesson. Always go home!!!
Oh and then the next door neighbors also came over with their kids (also friends) and Ryland was all over him too. Even rubbing his leg. So sweet.
I know he is ready for Josh to be home. Me too.

Patience
Do you want to know how to tell if your computer is really old? It doesn't have a memory card slot! Our big home one doesn't and that means it is really old (7 years). And that also means I have no idea how to get these picts on here. I know there is a way, I just can't fathom it. So I will wait until Josh comes home. It is good to work on patience.
Home Makeover
Hubby has been gone since Feb 22 and the time has went surprisingly quickly. My grandparents and sister were here for the first 2 weeks. We saw Josh the 2nd weekend. My sister stayed for the 3rd week. Last week was spring break and we started the week off by painting a friend's bedroom. Then I took that motivation to my house. Collin got blue stripes and his room is now done. I got dark choc walls and a new bedspread to go with it (bday present from sis!~I love early bdays.) Then Ryland got his room painted green. He loves it! I will have picts up someday. Oh I also painted the entryway again because it only had tinted primer on the walls for the last few months. So that is done too. We rehung picture frames and rearranged furniture. We cleaned the garage and painted the nook in there choclolate brown too. The boys were awesome painters and helped with everything. I know their future wives are going to be very grateful for their expertice in painting and home renovation. Ryland did all the prep work with taking the light covers off and getting the drop cloths ready. And with that the 4th week flew by. So now we are down to 10 days and counting. We are back to everything this week and we are going to try to get lots of school work done so we can take a little break for Easter. The boys both love to do science and want to do investigations everyday. Friday we learned about water conservation and saving electricity. We did the yucky banana and the color wheel over the weekend. Now we are going to learn about pollution today. I can't wait. This is feeding into my tree hugging-take care of the planet mindset quite nicely.
The only hiccup in that would be my kids....Yesterday we were reading a little people book and there was a picture of a purple and yellow fish swimming. Collin looks at it and says "Oh, I am going to eat you up purple fish. You are going to be soooo yummy in my tummy! I will catch you and eat you...yumymumymumymumy!" WHAT WAS THAT!?! How can my sweet boys want to see a cute fish and eat it? I don't think I even realized where meat came from at that age and the only way I can eat it now is if I don't think about it at all. But my little carvivores not only know, but think it is a great thing! Yuck.

Ryland lost his first tooth!
We were also at Sea World that day so we saw a few shows and visited with some friends from Minot who just happened to be down there vacationing. It was good to see them and we were very excited to see Josh. And it was the perfect timing because then Josh was there for Ryland's first lost tooth!

Pedicures
Grandma, my sister and I went to get pedicures tonight. Richard and Grandpa watched the kids and they only came home with one minor (self inflicted) injury and it was not my kid! The first shop we walked into smelled like cigarettes because she smoked in the shop! Yuck! So, I saw she only had 2 chairs and opted for the courteous way out by saying we wanted 3 chairs together so we were going to go elsewhere. I have no idea why Texas is not on board with the no smoking policy that the rest of the US has adopted! You can smoke in restaurants too. Anyway, we found another shop and it was quite pleasant. I had originally picked a nice orange color, but after a few looks from those with me, settled on a pretty, but boring pinky red. Not very original. I did toss around green for awhile, but my grandma mentioned something about not having any Irish in me so I don't need to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. So pinky red they are. And they look nice. The guy who gave me the pedicure did comment on the roughness of my feet though. Yes, I do walk around all the time barefoot. Yes, he could tell...at least I shaved my legs.
